Sports participation opportunities for all
Working with sporting clubs and organisations to provide all people with the choice to participate in sport if they want to, the way they want to, with whom they wish to participate, and how they wish to participate regardless of gender, race, ability, geography, wealth and any other discriminatory factor.
WE AIM TO
Develop sports-based participation opportunities for people of all abilities in Queensland within the established sports structures.
Develop, test and implement evidence-based best-practices to increase the number of people with disabilities who participate in sports.
Improve the quality of the participation experiences of people of all abilities engaging in these sports-related activities.
WE DO THIS BY
OUR PROGRAMS
Our foundation program is the Brisbane Paralympic Football Program. Started in 2006 the BPFP aims to get young people of all abilities to stay active and healthy & to perform to the best of their ability. BPFP’s occupational & allied health volunteers work one on one, many on one and one on many with participants according to their individual needs.
ADVOCATING
Sport has the power to transform communities and improve quality of life. By fostering community spirit it brings people together.
However, all is not rosy. Sports participation rates are declining and some sectors of our community do not have the same opportunities to participate in sport as others.
We are committed to reversing this trend by working with sports organisations to provide the same opportunities to all who want to participate.
FUNDRAISING
We raise philanthropic funds from public, private and corporate organisations, and apply for sporting grants to invest in the development of all abilities sport in Queensland. Funds received are granted to sports organisations who support approved all abilities sporting projects and programs.
OUR MOTTO
